The dual-mineral amendment pre-buffers grain pH to near-neutral — critical when transferring colonized grain into the acidic CVH-M manure substrate. Without pH buffering, the inoculum encounters a rapid pH shift at transfer that stalls colonization initiation in Agaricus and Wine Cap. CaCO₃ also provides bioavailable calcium that soil-guild species require for cell wall integrity. Hydrated to 52% via No-Soak, No-Simmer (NSNS) process control. Sterilized at 118.3°C / 15 PSI for 172 minutes (elevation-adjusted, 4,984 ft). Validated to F₀ ≥ 60. Pre-installed injection port. Species Compatibility
CaCO₃ amendment is the key differentiator — it pre-buffers the grain to match the near-neutral pH of the CVH-M manure substrate so colonized grain transfers without a pH shock. Agaricus: expect visible rhizomorphic growth within 5–7 days post-inoculation at 75°F. Wine Cap: slower than Agaricus but more tolerant of pH variation. Shaggy Mane and Blewit colonize aggressively on this amendment profile. Use exclusively with the Humus-Max CVH-M substrate for the full pillar effect.
